An evening of deep rest.
In today’s culture, everyday life has created a state of chronic stress, which is resulting in an overactive sympathetic nervous system (“fight or flight”). Our bodies are pretty amazing and have the intelligence to regulate from this state of stress into our parasympathetic nervous system (“rest and digest”). However, constantly being on the go and rushing through the day doesn’t allow our bodies time to level out.
Yoga Nidra or “Yogic Sleep” is a guided form of meditation, which is done lying down. It is a conscious state of deep relaxation between waking and sleeping that creates a space to heal mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. It goes through all five brain waves into our deepest state in order to invite healing and restoration to the body, to feel energized and rejuvenated, and to create a resilience to chronic stress.
It is said: 45 minutes of yoga nidra = three hours of sleep
In our 90 minutes together, we will learn about how yoga nidra works, create individualized intentions, and gently move our bodies to prepare ourselves for a state of deep relaxation and restoration.
